Northeast 111ers Home Page

Who They Are

The Northeast 111ers are an informal group of climbers who have climbed to the summit of the 115 highest peaks of the Northeastern USA (those above 4000 feet).
The mismatch between the name of the club and the number of peaks is due to more accurate surveys and other historical reasons.

As of December 2007, there were 572 recorded 111ers. As of April 2002, 36 had climbed all the peaks in winter. Each new 111er is given a number.

Further information

Up until 2004, the Club was administered by Albert and more recently Priscilla Robertson. Under the Robertsons, the 111ers were a very informal and personable Club where list completers could always look forward to a hand-written note of congratulations. In 2004, the reigns of the Club were handed over to the Four Thousand Footer Committee, which also controls three other peakbagging lists in New England.
